Forecast and analysis of PTA supply and demand in China

with the average annual production capacity growth of 20% in the polyester industry, the domestic demand for PTA is increasing. The construction and launch of a large number of private polyester production capacity has intensified the demand for imported PTA, prompting China's PTA industry to have a great development in recent years. At present, there are 16 major PTA production enterprises in China. In 2008, the total production capacity of domestic PTA production units was 12.3 million tons/year, with a year-on-year increase of 5.13%. It has maintained the position of the largest PTA production country in Asia and even the world for five consecutive years

at the same time, PTA production also increased with the production capacity, from 2.199 million tons in 2001 to 10million tons in 2008, with an average annual growth rate of about 24.1%. Although the rapid growth of production capacity and output has partially alleviated the market contradiction of short supply and reduced the import dependence from 58.6% in 2001 to 33.2% in 2008, as an important raw material for the chemical fiber industry, the domestic demand for PTA has been increasing. In 2008, domestic PTA consumption was 14.968 million tons, with an average annual growth rate of about 15.9% from 2001 to 2008, and the market gap remained at about 5 million tons. Although the import volume has shrunk since 2006, the situation of relying heavily on imports for a long time is unlikely to change fundamentally in the future

in 2008, China's PTA imports decreased by 16.9% year-on-year to 4.977 million tons. 96% of China's PTA imports come from Asia, and the main importing countries and regions are South Korea, Taiwan, China province of China, Thailand, Japan, Iran, etc. In 2008, China's imports of PTA from South Korea and Taiwan, a large number of inspiration from the natural system, totaled 4.218 million tons, accounting for 82.9% of the total imports. The provinces and cities that import more PTA in China are mainly Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province, Shanghai and Fujian Province

at present, more than 90% of PTA in the world is used to produce polyethylene terephthalate (PET for short). Polyester fiber accounts for 75% of PTA consumption structure in China's domestic market; Bottle grade polyester accounts for 20%; Film grade polyester accounts for 5%. By 2010, the domestic consumption pattern of PYA, which is mainly used to produce polyester, has not changed much

under the background that the capacity expansion of the domestic polyester industry seems to never stop, although the PTA price fluctuates with the trend at present, it is still in a rising trend. In Taizhou Plastic industry, which is a pillar industry of the regional economy, the economic benefits of the PTA industry continue to be reflected, and many enterprises still plan to build pT4 and output a devices. It is expected that both AK and CVN are the impact values measured under specific conditions. For 10 years, China's PTA capacity expansion will continue unabated. By 2009, the new PTA capacity in China will be 5.5 million tons/year, and the PTA capacity in that year will reach 17.8 million tons/year, of which the new capacity in East China will be 3.1 million tons/year, accounting for 56.4% of the country, basically matching the downstream polyester capacity. It is estimated that in 2010, the domestic demand for PTA is about 17.6-18.1 million tons. At that time, the PTA production capacity will reach 19.9 million tons/year, and the output will reach 17.91 million tons based on the operating rate of 90%. The domestic market will be basically flat or even oversupplied
